How long have you been with Food for Friends? -
Since 1994, the first year I served at the Harold Washington College Thanksgiving Dinner for the
Homeless.
What are you most proud of in your association with FFF? - To date we have been led by
Jesus Christ to even a higher level of serving. In 2001, our executive committee set out to
investigate non-profit status and become better organized to serve the less fortunate. In the fall
of 2002, we officially became a non-profit recognized charity.
What is your personal vision for FFF? - In Christ we can do great things. I
feel led by our God to utilize my leadership to help the less fortunate of Chicagoland.

Education - Bogan High School Class of '72
Church Affiliation - St. Terrance Catholic Church for 20 years
Why Food for Friends? - Joined Food For Friends to help the less fortunate.
I became Vice President of the new non-for-profit organization where I aid and support
the president and help the organization grow.
What are you most proud of in your association with FFF? - I'm most proud of
the dinner the Food For Friends group puts on at Thanksgiving at the Harold Washington College and
that all active members are volunteers.
Why should folks donate to FFF? - I believe the reason people should donate
to the FFF organization is that all proceeds go directly to help the less fortunate and
in that way they would be helping to do God's work here on earth.
Treasurer - John Opsahl

Degree(s) - Bachelors in Accounting, CPA
Church Affiliation - Willow Creek for 8 years
Why Food for Friends? - Because there are so many that are in need of
the basic necessities, food, shelter, and clothing.
What is your personal vision for FFF? - To continue to grow in Christ's love
for God's children who are less fortunate.
Why should folks donate to FFF? - As the scriptures state in Mathew 25:40,
'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you
did for me.' We were created to glorify and honor God in all we do. What better way to show
your praise to the Creator, than to give a portion of what He has blessed you with, back
to those who need it most.

committed group that has meaningful intentions for less fortunate people.
